The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing invoices and payments accurately and efficiently. This role involves maintaining strong vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
What your day will look like
- Process invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update accounts payable records and documentation
- Assist with the preparation of payment runs and ensure proper authorisation
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and review accounts payable reports and analyses
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the accounts payable function
What you need to fulfill the role
Experience (technical / leadership):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred or a relevant finance qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
Functional expertise or method expertise:
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
