What your day will look like
The Data Operations Analyst (f/m/d) is responsible for supporting the development, improvement, and governance of Master Data and operational data processes across the organization.
The role covers key Master Data domains, including Customer, Vendor, Finance, Organisation, Products & Services, and other relevant enterprise data domains, with a focus on ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, scalable, and compliant across business processes and systems.
The Data Operations Analyst works closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations to improve end-to-end data flows, support CRM and ERP improvements, and bring structure and clarity to operational processes and wider transformation initiatives.
Your responsibilities:
• Take ownership of existing operational and Master Data processes and identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and simplification.
• Manage and improve Master Data processes across key domains, including Customer, Vendor, Finance, Organisation, Products & Services, and other relevant enterprise data domains.
• Design, document, and maintain clear process frameworks, including process maps, RACI matrices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supporting controls.
• Optimize and streamline Lead-to-Cash / Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay related data flows.
• Work closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure Master Data and operational data is accurate, complete, consistent, and reliable.
• Identify data quality issues and support the implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive measures.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of Master Data governance principles, ownership models, and ways of working.
• Support CRM and ERP system improvements from a process and data perspective, with particular focus on systems such as Salesforce and NetSuite.
• Analyze end-to-end data flows and understand how data is created, maintained, synchronized, and consumed across business systems and downstream reporting.
• Identify dependencies between upstream operational processes and downstream financial processes, reporting, and controls.
• Support processes related to Revenue Recognition by ensuring that relevant Master Data and operational data is structured and maintained appropriately.
• Contribute to business transformation and change initiatives by bringing structure, process clarity, and data-driven insights.
• Use Excel, Power Query, PowerPivot, and Power BI to transform, analyze, validate, and report operational and Master Data.
• Develop reporting and analysis to support data quality monitoring, operational decision-making, and process performance.
• Collaborate with key business stakeholders to define data requirements, clarify ownership, and improve cross-functional processes.
• Identify inefficiencies, manual activities, and process gaps and recommend appropriate improvements.
• Support the stabilization and transition of operational processes when responsibilities, systems, or ways of working change.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of data processes, responsibilities, controls, and working procedures.
• Promote consistent ways of working and support the development of scalable data management practices across the organization.
What you need to fulfill the role
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid hands-on experience with Power Query, PowerPivot, and Power BI for data transformation, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience working with enterprise ERP and CRM systems, particularly NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Experience supporting CRM and/or ERP system improvement projects from a data and process perspective.
• Understanding of how Master Data is created, maintained, synchronized, and consumed across enterprise systems and downstream reporting platforms.
• Experience working with key Master Data domains such as Customer, Vendor, Finance, Organisation, and Products & Services.
• Experience working with Lead-to-Cash / Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes.
• Awareness of Revenue Recognition principles and the impact of Master Data quality on downstream financial processes and reporting.
• Experience with additional data transformation, reporting, automation, or analytics tools is desirable.
• Experience working within a SaaS environment is desirable.
• Proven experience in process optimization, process analysis, and process documentation.
• Experience developing process maps, RACI matrices, Standard Operating Procedures, or similar process documentation.
• Experience taking over, structuring, and stabilizing existing operational processes.
• Understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance principles.
• Understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality controls, and governance across multiple Master Data domains.
• Business Analysis experience or exposure to Business Analysis methodologies is desirable.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between Master Data quality, operational processes, financial processes, and management reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical and sustainable solutions.
• Structured and detail-oriented approach to managing complex processes and data.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Resilience and adaptability when working through organizational, process, or system changes.
• Curious and continuous-improvement-oriented mindset, with a focus on identifying better and more scalable ways of working.
