Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

What your day will look like
- Record and reconcile all transactions in the company’s General Ledger, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date for month and year end close
- Ensure proper accounting of assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses in compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll etc) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and data flow.
- Prepare and review journal entries (accruals, prepayments, foreign exchange, payroll) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account analysis to ensure that entries and balances are correct and provide explanations for discrepancies between actual and budgeted financial results.
- Support with the set up and integration of previously out-sourced entities into the ERP system
- Perform account reconciliations of assigned accounts and ensure that discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts particularly with regard to overheads
- Manage the tracking, recording, and reporting of tangible and intangible fixed assets and ensure proper depreciation schedules.
- Prepare tax filings and associated payments including VAT, corporation tax, and other relevant tax reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with local GAAP
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Provide financial information to support the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance reporting
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the general ledger function.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate routine tasks related to general ledger accounting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to the design and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
What you need to fulfill the role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for financial accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and solution oriented.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
