We are looking for a Director of Product Management (m/f/d) who can drive our long term product strategy. This role encompasses our existing products; where we provide solutions to customers; and potential future acquisitions and new product developments. You ensure that the company’s overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the product; that the product goals and strategy do not deviate from that of the business. You will be working on long term product plans, new and innovative capabilities, product positioning and messaging. At the same time you will be engaging with customers, colleagues and partners to communicate and inform our product direction.
  • Reporting to Chief Technical Officer
  • Occasional international travel (predominantly European)
  • Ability to travel to one of our offices as required (up to 2 days per week) 

Engage, empower & learn | Your tasks

  • As a senior leader in the company you must have excellent leadership qualities and have the ability to influence and inspire more junior members of your team (and the wider company) in applying various approaches or strategies for our products.
  • In addition to this, the director also acts as a mentor for the existing Product Management team, offering guidance in the performance of their functions and actively guiding and contributing to their career development.
  • You will lead the existing team of Product Managers across our Products and Solutions, ensuring alignment and common ways of working. You will develop the skills and expertise of the team through coaching and mentoring.
  • You are senior leader for our business and will be involved not only in our own specific discipline but encouraged to contribute to all areas of the business and actively drive our strategy.
  • You will establish a clear vision and positioning for our Products and Solutions at Thinkproject - clearly articulating the value propositions for customers.
  • Ensuring that roadmaps are well maintained and clearly communicated to your key stakeholders.
  • Managing the ongoing process of synthesizing and prioritizing requirement for your roadmaps to ensure that they remain relevant and delivering value to customers and Thinkproject.
  • Assuring that features and capabilities are developed in a common way and that priorities are considered across the Common Data Environment product set.
  • Working closely with other Product Managers to ensure alignment of the overall Product Portfolio.
  • When required work alongside Sales and Pre-Sales to support customer opportunities.
  • Be able to communicate clearly end effectively with your stakeholders to engage them in your vision and roadmap for the products-
  • Ensure direct and frequent interaction with customers (all personas) to influence the direction of the product.
  • Working alongside the Product Marketing function to develop and deliver high impact communications to position your Product or Solution in the market.
  • Work closely with the software development teams to ensure your roadmap is resourced and delivered to required timelines and specification. Ensuring that you also represent the needs of the development teams into the backlog to cover, for example, non-functional or operational requirements.
  • Develop, present, and maintain a clear view of the competitive landscape. Identify threats and opportunities.
  • Establish pricing and bundling approaches and provide clear guidance to colleagues in Pre-Sales and Sales about your Product or Solution.

Open-minded, committed & versatile | Your profile

  • We are seeking candidates with master’s Degree in Product Leadership, Technology, Business Administration or Marketing, or an equivalent in work experience.
  • 10-15 years experience in leadership of Product Management functions. You will also have a proven track record in product planning, defining and launching successful products, unifying product portfolios, and working with SaaS product lines. Also, candidates will need to show that they have had experience in thought leadership in order to be better positioned to drive and inspire such a large and important department.
  • Experience of the AECO lifecycle in general would be beneficial.
  • Ability to execute in a matrix style organisation, with the ability to manage the expectations of a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Able to convey complex ideas in a concise and compelling manner to a variety of audiences. Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to large groups.
  • Leadership of distributed teams, and evidence of managing for high performance with a coaching and mentoring style.
  • Able to create a community around your product or solution - and inspire high performance and commitment to deliver.
