What your day will look like
The Senior Procurement Consultant is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, negotiating supplier contracts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value, drive cost efficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the sourcing and procurement of goods and services across various categories
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value for the organisation
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring performance and service levels are met
- Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and provide expert guidance
- Monitor supplier performance and manage any issues or disputes effectively
- Prepare procurement reports, spend analyses, and market insights to support strategic decision-making
- Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies and process improvements
- Stay abreast of market trends, innovations, and best practices in procurement
- Provide support to the Head of Procurement and mentor junior team members where appropriate
What you need to fulfill the role
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices, including negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and negotiation techniques
- Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
